A fictionalized retelling of the famous 1925
"Scopes Monkey Trial" in which science teacher John
Scopes was tried and convicted for teaching Darwin's
theory of evolution. John's girlfriend, Rachel,
who is also the daughter of the town's fundamentalist
preacher, is torn between her love for both men but
ultimately realizes the importance of having the
freedom to think.
