In this relentlessly and abundantly energetic
musical, cute jock Troy meets sweet Gabriella on a
winter vacation and shows her his tender side, something
no one back at East High School in Albuquerque has seen.
When Gabriella's family moves to Albuquerque the pair
reconnect but he's the basketball team's star player and
she's a brainiac, so their cliques don't mesh. All
differences are set aside when both audition for the
high school musical. Eventually, their friends-- and
even Troy's coach (who's also his dad) -- come around.
